I'm absolutely in as soon as these are available.
I gotta find out what the deal is from John. This is VERY cool, IMO.

I already know the necks will be too thin for yours truly. I'm a big fan of EBMM guitars but the necks run too small for me.
If they had one with a medium profile neck I would grab it.

You are wrong (...and here is why! HAHA!)
This guitar is supposed to have a big neck...
Apparently, John wanted a LP type fat sound for this guitar....I'm gonna find out everything I can about it, hopefully from the source (I should see him the end of July)
Oh, BTW, Brew, although the normal Petrucci Guitar has a pretty thin neck, front to back, it still has a nice wide fingerboard, which I really like.

If JP wanted a 'fat LP type of sound' why is the guitar a neck-thru model?
Aren't those usually fairly bright sounding?

Because JP wanted a neck-through, I guess. 8)
It looks neck through, maybe it's a set neck. This is what he wanted, I'll take it when it's available.

Man!!!!!!! Very Nice!!!! That's a different twist for MM to take. I love the Petrucci's! Very ultilitarian and well thought out instruments. Gonna have to keep looking in the sofa and see if the kids have dropped any more change! LOL!!!!!!
Or you could sell that Jackson PC-1 to me and use the money for the Petrucci....LOL!!!

uuuhhh...no..lol... see Jackson just discontinued that paddle headstock and put a "strat" headstock on all PC1's....thanks Jackson!!!!!!!!!
Guys on the Jackson board are already licking their chops!..Me, I don't care if they go up in value or not..it just suits my needs.. between the sustainor, the raw neck and the floyd..the only thing its missing is a piezo and it'd be all I'd need in one...seriously the PC1 has now become my number 1 and "Mother" (my Diablo is now retired..she needs a vacation since being on duty since 93 and was starting to some the wear.) But I have always dug the Petrucci's..between the PC1, the Petrucci's and the Hubers...I haven't come across anything finer..I could easily play one of the three for the rest of my days and make do just fine...certain guitars are able to, by design, cross great looks and tone with a playability that inspires me to wanna play more. Of the three mentioned above, never touched or seen a dog.
Greg, mucho thanks...hopefully if things go as they are..we'll be in touch soon!
